Description

The French women’s ready-to-wear retailer Pimkie has announced an additional 239 job cuts, including 42 positions at their head office. This move is part of an ongoing restructuring effort that follows the previous 2023 restructuring plan, which led to 257 job cuts but failed to deliver the expected results Pimkie 2023 - FR. The company was officially placed under bankruptcy proceedings on May 27, 2023, after struggling to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, Pimkie will close 97 of the 302 stores it operated in 2023. Additionally, fourteen other stores, including two initially marked for closure in the first plan, will be converted under the Miniso brand.

In 2009, Pimkie also recorded 190 job cuts as part of a previous restructuring plan Pimkie 2009 - FR.
