Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
As announced on 11 October 2024, the Austrian foam specialist Neveon, belonging to the Greiner Group, plans to close three locations in Germany by mid-2026, making 240 employees redundant.
This includes the production sites in Ebersbach and Burkhardtsdorf, as well as the administrative site in Wiesbaden. A social plan will be developed in cooperation with employee representatives. The company cited the sites' lack of profitability and diminishing competitiveness in the tough market conditions as reasons for the closures.
Neveon employs 2,800 people worldwide.
