Description
Approximately 315 jobs are to be lost in Tullamore, County Offaly, as medical devices company Cardinal Healthcare is to close its manufacturing plant in spring 2026.
The company is to relocate some manufacturing to other plants in Mexico, Thailand or Costa Rica. It will close the Irish plant on a phased basis between now and March 2026.
It was reported that staff have been offered a redundancy package of six weeks pay per years of service in addition to the statutory redundancy payment of two weeks’ pay per year of service.
The company entered a 30-day consultation process with trade unions.
