Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Danish Crown is undergoing a major restructuring, resulting in the elimination of 500 administrative positions, primarily in Denmark.
This follows an earlier round of layoffs in April 2024, where 1,200 employees were let go due to the closure of the Ringsted slaughterhouse. The company aims to reduce annual costs by 500 million DKK through these measures. CEO Niels Duedahl emphasizes the necessity of these cuts to restore financial health at the company. Additionally, Danish Crown faces pressure from shareholders and competition from Tican.
