Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Wavin’s restructuring in Hammel will result in the loss of approximately 110 jobs, affecting one-third of the workforce, due to the closing of plastic production. The production will be relocated to other European locations over the next few years.
Despite the job cuts, Hammel will remain a European competence centre for Wavin’s plumbing products, and logistics will be strengthened to centralise supply for Denmark and the Nordic markets. This move is part of Orbia B&I’s ongoing efforts to optimize production capacity and ensure competitive operations.
