Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The largest regional ice cream manufacturer, Ledo, is looking for 146 workers for jobs at two locations. The company has announced several vacancies for jobs in the City of Zagreb and Dugopolje, near the City of Split.
The positions opened include 80 workers for the production line, 46 warehouse workers, and 20 transport workers. Ledo offers workers in the plant, warehouse, and transport positions a starting gross wage of EUR 840, which is the legally stipulated minimum wage in Croatia and equates to EUR 680 net. However, workers also receive various allowances, so the wage is ultimately higher than that amount. An elementary school education is sufficient for these jobs, and candidates do not need to have previous work experience. The company is also looking for one machinist and one associate for transport work with a high school diploma, both of whom will receive a wage higher than the minimum.
