Description
As announced on 07 October 2024, Würth Elektronik plans to close its plant in Schopfheim, Baden-Württemberg by mid-2025, resulting in 300 job cuts.
The company specialises in manufacturing printed circuit boards for the electronics industry. Würth Elektronik is a subsidiary of the Würth Group, a manufacturer and distributor of fastening and assembly technology. The reason for the closure is the pressure from foreign competitors in the printed circuit board market and the declining demand for circuit boards from Europe.
Würth Elektronik employs 7,900 people worldwide, including 1,000 in Germany.
