Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German pharmaceutical company Fresenius has announced that it will cut about 2,000 jobs worldwide.
So far, the company has revealed that 250 positions are expected to be cut in Germany Fresenius Kabi 2022-DE. The layoffs are part of a global efficiency programme and will be carried out at the company’s drug and nutrition division, Fresenius Kabi.
Fresenius provides products and services for dialysis, in hospitals and in outpatient medical care.
In November 2021, the dialysis subsidiary Fresenius Medical Care had already announced the reduction of 5000 jobs worldwide[Fresenius Medical Care-2021-WO] (https://apps.eurofound.europa.eu/restructuring-events/detail/106120).
