As announced on 26 September 2024, the German steel manufacturer Thyssenkrupp is cutting 421 of 530 jobs in Bremen.
The company produces manufacturing lines for the automotive industry in Bremen, and this business area is set to be phased out by 2026. Instead, the company plans to focus on other areas.
Thyssenkrupp intends to discuss socially responsible solutions for the employees with the works council and the union. It is possible that some of the employees may find other positions within the company.
Thyssenkrupp has recently been cutting jobs in other divisions throughout Germany, see Thyssenkrupp Polysius-2024-DE, Thyssenkrupp Automotive Body Solutions-2024-DE and Thyssenkrupp Schulte-2024-DE.
