The machinery and plant manufacturer Schuler, specialised in the manufacturing of presses, is cutting 474 jobs in Germany, spread across various locations, due to internal restructuring.
The Gemmingen site is affected with approximately 174 planned job cuts, and the Weingarten site will be shut down with 300 employees losing their jobs. The company is responding to the challenging economic environment in the automotive industry.
Management plans to enter into negotiations with employee representatives and aims to conclude these discussions by the end of 2024. The company employs 5,000 people worldwide.
