Description

Dutch airline KLM (Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij) has announced it is actively seeking 265 pilots and 200-300 technicians in 2024 to address a skilled personnel shortage that hampers its post-pandemic recovery.

Despite Air France-KLM’s record revenue and profit in 2023, KLM faces challenges due to Russia's war in Ukraine's impact on flight routes, weather-related cancellations, and ongoing fleet renewals.

KLM's operating profit fell from €702 million to €650 million, while revenue increased to €12 billion. Capacity is expected to reach 88% of 2019 levels in 2024, but full recovery might take two years.
