Description

US Automotive equipment supplier Inteva has announced a reorganisation affecting its two sites in France, with 131 job cuts out of a total workforce of 320. The Inteva group designs, builds, manufactures and assembles access control systems, door systems, roof systems and electronic and engine systems for the automotive industry.

To justify the redundancies, the group cites the consequences of ‘the permanent loss of a historic contract’ with Renault. At European level, around a hundred job cuts are envisaged in design offices and factories in Germany, the Czech Republic and Romania.

The Esson plant (Calvados) is the main site affected, with 110 job losses (out of a total workforce of 210). The plant is specialised in the design and manufacture of electric motors for window regulators and sunroofs, and is home to the Group's motor R&D centre.

Another site affected is Semoy (Centre-Val de Loire), where 21 jobs will be cut out of a workforce of around 40. Negotiations between the unions and management could make it possible to limit the number of forced dismissals through voluntary redundancies or retraining.

Two reorganisations have been already recorded in the ERM database, with 265 job cuts in 2020 Inteva-2020-FR and 73 job cuts in 2018 Inteva-2018-FR.
