Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The French vehicle manufacturer Renault has declared its intention to increase the daily production capacity at its Valladolid assembly factory to 2.5 shifts/day from end October 2024 onwards. As a result, the company has announced the recruitment of 500 new employees for a new night shift at the Valladolid assembly factory, to be added to a recent additional employment creation of 500 jobs already announced in June 2024 in order to boost factory’ manufacturing capacity to two complete shifts. The most in-demand profiles correspond to automotive operators, forklift drivers, welders, painters, and final touch specialists.
Renault Group has specialised its Spanish plants in the production of non-plugged hybrid cars, while the production of pure electric vehicles remains in France.
