Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Arla is closing 160 positions at its Arinco factory in Videbæk, Denmark, which produces infant formula and milk powder. The production will be moved to the French cooperative dairy company Sodiaal in 18 months. Arla aims to retain as many skilled employees as possible. The Videbæk factory will shift its focus to Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI). Vice Executive Director Luis Cubel acknowledges the difficulty of the situation and states that layoffs are inevitable. Currently, the Arinco factory employs 320 people in Videbæk
