Description

Spar, an Austrian retail company based in Salzburg, will create approximately 150 jobs across locations including Hennersdorf, Pressbaum, St. Pölten, Zwettl, Mank, Mauerbach, and Groß-Siegharts, with openings scheduled by the end of 2024.

The background of this business expansion are Spar's plans to invest €35 million in building seven new stores in Lower Austria.

The decision to expand despite economic challenges reflects Spar's commitment to regional development, with a focus on using local suppliers and construction firms. For example, the new store in Zwettl is being built by a local company, Fessl. The new St. Pölten store will be housed in a multi-use building.
