Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Wars, a passenger rail sector company delivering catering services, plans to employ up to 100 workers laid off by PKP Cargo for its Polish operations.
This initiative, part of an agreement between the two companies, will help those impacted by the layoffs, with job opportunities available in roles such as dispatchers, warehouse workers, and administrative staff.
Wars currently serves 20 high-speed Pendolino trains, and multiple restaurant and sleeping cars. The State Treasury holds a 49.98% stake, with the rest owned by PKP Intercity. The recent layoffs by PKP Cargo have been recorded in the ERM events database PKP Cargo-2024-PL.
