Generator Produkcja, a company specialising in wind turbine generators, will lay off about 180 employees at its plant in Opole.
The restructuring involves closing the Polish branch due to organisational changes and planned cessation of operations. Employees are offered positions in Magdeburg, Germany, with assistance for relocation and accommodation, though specific terms are unclear. The group redundancy plan was already reported by the company to the Labour Office; all workers of the Polish branch will loose their jobs. Union negotiations are scheduled to begin on July 30, 2024.
Generator Produkcja is part of German company Enercon, founded in 1984; the company has been operating in Opole since 2015.
