Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Dalmacijavino, the fourth biggest wine producer in Croatia, proclaimed bankruptcy and announced that 556 workers are to be laid off.
The bankruptcy comes after battling receivership for several years. The Financial Agency prepared a report to the Commercial Court in Split in which it was pointed out that at the end of June 2024, the company's bank account was blocked with EUR 12.39 million.
In the first quarter of 2024, payments were made primarily to the claims of about fifty creditors, including the Tax Administration for as much as EUR 6.7 million, for unpaid VAT, taxes and social contributions. On the website of the Financial Agency, the electronic public auction for the sale of real estate owned by Dalmacijavino has begun.
