Description

The management of automotive supplier Bosch has announced that it will close its Mondeville plant (Calvados) in June 2026 for lack of a buyer, which will result in the loss of 413 jobs. Some of the employees will be able to take advantage of an early retirement scheme offered by Bosch.

The Bosch group announced its intention to close the Mondeville plant, which is specialised in the manufacture of automotive parts, a year ago, justifying its decision by the fact that the plant was not sufficiently profitable. At that time, the management already cut 100 position on a total workforce of about 500 employees Bosch 2023 - FR.

The German multinational did not accept the applications submitted by the few buyers who had come forward. Representatives of the local authorities regretted the decision and said they were disappointed not to have been involved in the choice of a buyer. In two years' time, some of the 413 employees will be able to take early retirement, and another half will receive support to find a new job.
