Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
IAG, the Spanish-British holding company that includes the airlines Iberia and British Airways (among others), has announced the opening of an Artificial Intelligence laboratory in Viladecans (Barcelona) with 150 employees.
The centre will begin operations in two weeks with 70 employees, with the aim of expanding the workforce within a year to 150 employees. The laboratory will research and develop different solutions and tools to improve the operational efficiency of all the companies that make up the IAG group.
This centre complements the laboratory that the Spanish British group did open at the end of 2023 in London, which already employs 120 people.
