Description
The Leroy Merlin group is preparing to cut almost 225 jobs in France. The reductions will mostly affect the accounting sector in the headquarters and 180 of the people affected by the jobs cuts will be women.
Unions, like CGT and FO, have already declared their rejection of this measure, which mainly affects women and employees who have worked for the company for more than 20 years.
Present at a demonstration, Sophie Binet, general secretary of the CGT, pointed out that the scheme is mostly affecting women and there is no real job protection plan with a contractual severance scheme.
