Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
B&M Clothing Company, operating in the clothing sector, will lay off 123 employees in Radom.
This restructuring decision has been taken due to financial losses and could effectively lead to the closure of the company as it employs 140 people. The layoffs are expected to begin soon and last a month, as the Regional Labour Office was already informed about the group redundancies. Production workers and other employees will be laid off.
The company's beginnings in Radom are linked to the establishment of the Bohner-Modar Clothing Company joint venture in August 1990. The Hamburg-based Bohner acquired 75 per cent of the shares in this company, and the remaining shares were acquired by the Radomskie Zakłady Przemysłu Odzieżowego "Modar."
