Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Solbika, a household glass production company, will lay off 119 employees in Maków near Radom.
The reasons for the restructuring are financial losses the company has been experiencing. The layoffs are expected to begin soon and last a month, as the group redundancies were already declared to the District Labour Office; reduction will primarily affect production and decorative glass jobs.
Measures planned by the District Labour Office in Radom include offering services such as job placement, vocational counselling, and training to raise or change qualifications.
Solbika's core business is the production and decoration of household glassware and its sale.
