European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
French energy management systems manufacturer Schneider Electric inaugurated its new plant in Dunavecse. The new production site will produce electrical switch gears and switch boxes. The factory will employ up to 500 workers at capacity and is reported to be operating already at near capacity levels.
The 'smart factory' has been established with a view to meeting the expected surge in demand for electricity-based solutions amid the growing need to enhance energy efficiency. The production site itself is to operate in a carbon-neutral way, using solar and geothermal energy.
The investment cost was roughly €80 million, 13% of which was covered by a non-refundable government grant.
The Dunavecse factory is the fifth production site operated by Schneider Electric in Hungary.
