Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Continental is to create 500 jobs between now and 2026 in its plant at Toulouse (Haute-Garonne). The announcement was made at the Choose France summit in Versailles, in May 2023, by the French president Emmanuel Macron. These 500 people will be hired in Toulouse, at the Basso Cambo site, which already employs 1,500 people. The plant is specialised in on-board electronics.
Previous recruitment campaigns of Continental in France have been recorded in the ERM Events data: in 2019, they hired 270 new employees (Continental 2019 - FR), in 2018, it was 350 new vacancies provided by the company (Continental 2018 - FR) and in 2011, with 100 new jobs (Continental 2011 - FR).
