European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Walcownia Rur "Andrzej", operating in the manufacturing sector, has announced that it will close, resulting in 435 job losses in Zawadzkie, Opolskie Voivodeship.
The closure is due to high operating costs and outdated technology. The group redundancies process will begin in June and conclude by September 2024.The company plans to provide severance packages to the affected employees as part of its job reduction measures.
The announcement has led to a significant social reaction, with employees planning a protest on June 4th. Walcownia Rur "Andrzej" is a key employer in Zawadzkie and a part of the Alchemia S.A. group. The company previously faced financial challenges due to a lack of investment.
