Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Retail giant Amazon has announced a new wave of recruitment of 2,000 employees on permanent contract by the end of 2024. Many vacancies will be available in strategic regions of France, such as Île de France, Hauts-de-France and Grand-Est. The 2,000 announced recruitments do not include temporary staff, particularly those recruited for the end-of-year period. In Senlis they will recruit logistics operations managers, maintenance technicians, supplier relationship managers, senior software developers, product managers, human resources managers and security specialists while in the other sites they are mainly looking for logistics agents.
Previously, Amazon had already promote significant recruitment campaigns. In 2022, the company announced the creation of 3,000 new jobs Amazon 2022 - FR and, in the previous year, 2021, they have created 4,000 new vacancies Amazon 2021 - FR. In 2019, the company recruited 500 new employees with the construction of its new warehouse site at Senlis (Oise) Amazon 2019 - FR.
Updated 12/05/2024 After the Choose France Summit, Amazon decided to increase the number of recruitment to 3,000 employees on permanent contract. These new workers will further develop the Amazon Web system and their use of artificial intelligence.
