Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Grandi Navi Veloci (GNV), one of the leading passenger transport shipping companies, has announced the creation of 500 new job positions. The available opportunities vary in terms of experience and level of responsibility, including technical roles such as officers, mechanics, workers, and refrigeration technicians, as well as positions in the onboard hotel sector, such as pursers, administrative assistants, cooks, pizza chefs, room attendants, and helpers.
Candidates with language skills, particularly in Arabic, French, and Spanish, are also sought. No prior experience or possession of a seaman's book is required to apply. New hires without a seaman's book will be financially supported to obtain the necessary qualifications and will participate in onboard training sessions organised by the MSC Training Centre.
The candidate selection process will take place through open days, which will be held in various cities including Torre del Greco, Potenza, Bari, Catanzaro, and Palermo, where preliminary interviews will be conducted.
