Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French retailer Carrefour announced the recruitment of 140 new employees for the new store that will be opened by the end of April 2024 in Pitesti (Arges County). The Pitesti store is the 57th opened by the company in Romania.
With the acquisition of the operations of Romania Hypermarche in October 2023, Carrefour reaches approximately 450 stores in 113 cities across the country and is in the top three players in the Romanian retail market, being a certified top employer (2023, 2024) with over 17,000 employees.
Romania Hypermarche S.A. is part of the Belgian group Louis Delhaize, which is mainly active in retail. In Romania it owns the "Cora" hypermarkets and the "Cora Urban" convenience stores.
