Description

ABB, a company in the technology sector, is closing its site in Aleksandrów Łódzki; 400 people will lose their jobs.

The company explains its decision by changing market dynamics, adding that it is a business decision that is uncorrelated with the performance of the factory team - all motor production for the company is to be transferred to China. The low-voltage motor production site will be closed, a process expected to last until the end of 2024. All employees will lose their jobs and the company is offering psychological support, a corporate benefits package and reorientation support.

ABB Ltd. is a Swedish–Swiss multinational corporation headquartered in Sweden, formed in 1988. Its core activities include power generation, transmission and distribution, industrial automation, and robotics.

Last year the ABB decided on the closure of its Kłodzko plant, laying-off 600 people: ABB 2023-PL.
