Description

Posti, the state owned postal company under the universal postal obligation in Finland, is making two changes to their business and will reduce its staff by 130 workers.

The first is that they will stop delivering mass delivery of advertisements and unaddressed mass mailings, such as free newspapers without a named recipient. This change is starting in the beginning of 2025.

The second change is a reorganisation of their postal center in Tampere. This change is due to investments in new sorting machines that will improve the efficiency in mail handling, and due to centralisation of mail handling to the city of Helsinki.

Change negotiations have started 6th of May 2024, and the estimated staff reduction is a maximum of 130 workers, primarily concentrated to the postal office in Tampere.
