The American car manufacturer Tesla has announced that it will cut about 14,000 jobs worldwide.
So far, the company has revealed that 400 positions are expected to be cut at its plant in Brandenburg, Germany. According to Tesla, it wants to avoid redundancies at the German site and has therefore launched a voluntary programme for employees who want to leave the company. The background of the decision are worsening financial results; the company has reported a slowing global demand.
Tesla has production sites in the United States, China and Germany and employs 140,473 staff worldwide.
The restructuring plan in Germany Tesla-2024-DE as well as a previous global restructuring programme were recorded in the ERM events database Tesla-2018-WO.
