Description
The French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi has announced a restructuring plan for its R&D activities that will result in 1,200 jobs cuts in 2024 and 2025.
In France, the company is to cut 330 positions in three locations. The cuts will mainly affect the oncology R&D department, which has been identified as the costliest business area within the company. The restructuring programme is aimed at optimising costs and relocating resources to other research areas. The conditions of the programme will be negotiated with employee representatives according to local regulations.
Further information on the other locations affected is currently not available. Sanofi operates in 135 countries and employs about 86,000 staff worldwide.
These previous restructuring events were recorded in the ERM events database: Sanofi-2019-EU and Sanofi-2020-EU.
