Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The retailer chain Billa Bulgaria plans to open 12 new stores in 2024, including the first ones in Tutrakan and Teteven, and create 250 jobs. The planned sustainable investment in Bulgaria for the whole of 2024 is over BGN 120 million (EUR 60 million).
A warehouse base is also under construction near the Stara Zagora village of Zagore, which is expected to be completed and commissioned in 2025. The base is located on 55 acres and will lead to the creation of 200 jobs. 90% of the electricity there will come from photovoltaic systems.
The latest figures show that in 2023 the company will grow by 15% compared to 2022, reaching a turnover of BGN 1.423 billion. The company also registered a 5.4% growth in terms of number of customers, he added.
