The German co-operative bank Apobank has announced the reduction of 300 jobs in all business areas. The job reductions are intended to make processes more efficient and save costs. The jobs are to be reduced over the next 2 years. This reduction is to be carried out largely through staff turnover, a voluntary programme and early retirement schemes, with no dismissals for operational reasons.
The Apobank is the second largest co-operative bank in Germany and employs around 2,300 people. It offers banking services for pharmacies and medical practices as well as for employees and the self-employed in the medical professions.
