Levi Strauss & Co., a clothing manufacturing company, is closing its production facility in Plock, from where it will lay off around 700 people.
The company explains its decision due to difficulties in hiring qualified employees and maintaining the full capacity of the facility iin the face of rising production costs and increased demands. The jeans production facility will be closed by the end of the first half of 2024; production employees will lose their jobs. The company will maintain its retail operations so that 250 sales staff will remain employed.
Levi Strauss & Co. is an American apparel company known for manufacturing denim trousers and other clothing products. The factory in Plock was opened in 1992.
