Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Austrian ski and ice hockey equipment manufacturer Fischer Sports has announced that it will cut 150 jobs worldwide.
The restructuring will affect 20 positions at its headquarters in Austria, while 130 are expected to be cut in Ukraine. The move comes as the company is suffering from declining demand in the cross-country and Alpine skiing sectors.
Fischer Sports has been operating since 1924. The company produces Austrian winter sports equipment, specifically Nordic skiing, Alpine skiing and ice hockey equipment. The company employs around 1,300 people at its facilities in Austria and Ukraine.
