State-owned postal company, An Post, is to cut around 1,000 jobs over the next five years, from the middle of June 2023. This is in addition to a reduction of up to 350 jobs in 2021.
The company confirmed that there will be no compulsory redundancies and that some of the job reductions will be as a result of natural attrition and non-replacements of an ageing workforce.
The semi-state company employed a total staff of 10,104 at the end of 2022.
