Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Swedish heating, ventilation, and air conditioning solutions provider NIBE has announced that it will cut about 680 jobs in Europe.
The company revealed that 340 positions are expected to be cut in Sweden Nibe 2024 - SE, while ‘an equivalent number of positions’ is to be eliminated in other European countries (no specific locations are indicated as of now). The conditions of the programme are negotiated with employee representatives according to local regulations. The cost-saving programme will be especially carried out within NIBE Climate Solutions division. The move comes as demand for heat pumps in the construction market in Europe has declined.
NIBE employs nearly 22,000 staff worldwide.
