Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Oventrop, a company in the plumbing industry, is expanding its plant in Szydłowiec, where it will eventually employ 300 people. The plant expansion is linked to the growing role of the Szydłowiec plant for the company's German headquarters, and a new production hall is currently under construction. The gradual development of the plant has been planned since its inception. Recruitment for new positions has now begun and, by the middle of next year, the plant is expected to employ 175 people, reaching eventually 300 workers in total. Oventrop has been in business for over 170 years, operating mainly in Germany and producing fittings, thermoregulation and ventilation equipment. The Szydłowiec plant opened in 2022 and currently employs 78 people.
