The German automotive group BMW and the Romanian subsidiary of Japanese information technology service and consulting multinational NTT DATA have signed an agreement to establish a joint venture in Romania. Both partners announced the opening of a software development center in Cluj-Napoca (Cluj County). The joint venture is expected to employ around 250 software developers by the end of 2024.
The BMW Group is thus continuing to expand its global network for its corporate IT and is securing talent and experience in the software sector.
For several years, IT and software hubs in Germany, USA, South Africa, India, Portugal (Critical TechWorks joint venture) and China (LingYue Digital IT Co. Ltd. and BA TechWorks) have strengthened the software competence of the German car manufacturer.
