Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Amazon, the e-commerce company, will open a new logistics centre in Gorzyczki, where it will employ approximately 1,000 people. The logistics centre in Gorzyczki is Amazon's second investment in the Silesian Voivodeship (there are already facilities in Sosnowiec and Gliwice); ultimately, the centre is to contribute to the development of local investments and the expansion of logistics infrastructure. The logistics centre is due to open in the second half of 2024, but recruitment is already underway, with entry level employees, managers and specialists in operations management, engineering and maintenance, HR, IT and OSH specialists being recruited.
Amazon is the world’s largest e-commerce company, currently employing about 70 000 employees in 10 logistic centres in Poland, where it operates since 2014.
