Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Inter IKEA Group, which connects IKEA franchisees with products development and suppliers, has decided to invest in Greece and the investment is expected to create 100 permanent jobs. In collaboration with the FOURLIS Group, INTER IKEA will establish a global product distribution center covering 50,000 square meters in Aspropyrgos, Attica. This center will be supplied through the port of Piraeus and will serve the East Mediterranean markets. Initially, it will cover the needs of IKEA stores in Greece, Bulgaria, Jordan, Israel, and Cyprus and later on to other regions, such as Egypt.
The new jobs will include between other highly specialized positions in data processing, data analysis, logistics, and artificial intelligence. Construction of the distribution center is set to begin in 2024, and the center is expected to be operational from mid-2025.
