Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Aldi Portugal, a subsidiary from a German supermarket chain, will hire 120 workers until the end of April 2024. This recruitment is part of a national plan for the expansion of the brand.
In Portugal, Aldi employs around 2,800 people across logistics centres, offices and supermarkets. It has at least 140 stores and it is expected that the group reach 200 stores in a near future.
Aldi offers specific benefits for their workers, notably health insurance (extended to the household), exemption from parents on the first day of school for their children, discounts through partnerships, the possibility of hybrid regime (two days of telework) and more three days of holidays than those established by the Labour Code.
