The Stellantis group, a Dutch multinational carmaker has announced a reorganisation plan of its production site at Poissy (Yvelines) that will result in the loss of 560 jobs.
The jobs to be lost include 200 to 250 temporary positions. The reorganisation is linked to logistics and supply problems on the part of suppliers. However, the site has no plans to cut production. While night shifts will be lost due to the job cuts, the loss of night shifts will be offset by the introduction of a new organisation from 28 November, based on alternating two shifts rather than working three shifts, one of which is a night shift.
The Force Ouvrière union has called for three one-hour walkouts in protest on Monday 13 November and Tuesday 14 November 2023.
Stellantis was formed from the merger between the PSA group and the Fiat-Chrysler group.
