Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
LIDL is recruiting for the opening of its largest logistics centre in France on the Ablis business park in Prunay-en-Yvelines (Yvelines). The site will be 15 metres high and cover 90,000 m². The initial shipments of pallets are expected to arrive in mid-October 2024, and the complete opening of the site is planned for March 2025. A number of storage areas for foodstuffs and other products will be created, as well as loading bays for the lorries that will deliver the supermarkets, and offices. 300 jobs are to be filled before the opening. They include 50 administrative, sales and business development staff and 250 logistics staff. Management explains that it has begun recruiting managers and supervisors. In early spring 2024, management will begin recruiting order pickers.
