Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Ministry of Education has announced the net creation of 574 teaching posts in collèges and lycées for the start of the 2024 academic year, whereas the Finance Bill provided for the elimination of more than 2,400 posts. The posts that were due to be cut have therefore been maintained and increased. 150 posts will be dedicated to combating bullying at school, while the other posts will be used to monitor the level groups in maths and French that are due to be set up at the start of the new school year. These level groups of 15 pupils in French and maths will concern schools where pupils have the lowest results.
Several announcements have already been recorded on the ERM Database website: 1,355 new posts were announced in 2012 FR-Education-Nationale-2012, following 16,000 job cuts in 2010 FR-Education-Nationale-2010, 16,000 job cuts in 2009 FR-Education-Nationale-2009, 2,700 new posts in 2007 FR-Education-Nationale-2007a and 5,000 job cuts announced the same year FR-Education-Nationale-2007b.
