Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Burger King has announced the creation of 500 new jobs in Portugal until the end of 2023, and 1,500 additional jobs until the end of 2025.
RBI Group, which owns the Burger King (BK) brand's master franchise in the Iberian Peninsula, has developed a BK growth plan that will be implemented in the next two years in Portugal.
The company is seeking to hire operators, distributors and managers. The group has tripled its BK brand stores network in Portugal and is going to open 17 new stores in the country, recruiting 500 workers until the end of 2023. In 2024 and 2025, an additional 60 BK restaurants will be opened and a total of 1,500 jobs will be created.
BK has been in Portugal for 20 years, employing 4,500 workers in a total of 182 restaurants. 90% of the BK restaurants in Portugal are managed by the RBI Group and 10% are managed by franchises.
