Description
On 17 November 2023, different newspapers reported that German DIY market store chain Obi will cut another 150 jobs in its administration departments in Cologne and Wermelskirchen, North-Rhine Westphalia.
The company wants to offer voluntary leaves and does not want to resort to forced dismissals. The job cuts are part of a new business strategy that seeks to optimise internal structure and generate more business.
Obi employs around 3,000 staff members in Germany. Already in 2022, 150 jobs were cut in administrative and logistic departments (Obi-2022-DE).
