Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Weidmüller Interface Romania, the subsidiary of the German group based in North Rhine-Westphalia, specialized in products, solutions and services for Smart Industrial Connectivity and the Industrial Internet of Things, has inaugurated two new production halls at the Tautii-Magheraus (Maramures County) plant. As a result, the company announced the creation of 500 new jobs by the end of 2024.
The plant is located ten kilometers from Baia Mare (largest city in Maramures County) and has become the group's largest production facility. Weidmüller Interface Romania started its activity in Tautii-Magheraus in 2005. The company has grown steadily and by 2020 it employs more than 950 people in its six production halls, covering an area of around 15,000 square meters.
By the end of 2022, the company had 1,038 employees in Romania.
Globally, the group has production facilities, sales companies and sales representatives in more than 80 countries and employing more than 6,000 workers.
